Just Beachy

We know, we know––you head to the beach to play outside, not stay indoors. But that doesn’t mean you should settle for a bland interior! Let’s move away from the expected driftwood signs toward a more modern beach house. With a little know-how (hint: it all starts with the right custom frame) it’s possible to decorate your vacation home in a way that is appropriate for the location, and also decidedly chic.

Here are some beachy (but not kitschy!) ideas to get those wheels turning:

Slice Of (The Good) Life

Celebrate the reason for the season by hanging custom framed art that depicts favorite beachside moments. Just think: If the painting, drawing or photo is of an activity that makes you happy, the art itself is bound to bring you joy as well.

Cheers to summer! This large print by Max Wanger just screams “summertime.” Photo and styling by Oh Joy!, White Gallery Frame by us.

This August Print by Inslee (seen here custom framed in our White Gallery Frame) perfectly captures the carefree, laidback mood of a day at the beach.

Bringing the Outdoors In

It might seem obvious, but one of the easiest ways to decorate a beach house is to draw inspiration from right outside the front door. We love the soothing aqua hues of a beautifully captured seascape––and of course, a custom framed photograph will never go out of style.

Ryan Longnecker’s aerial view of Seal Beach Pier looks stunning in our White Gallery Frame. Photo and styling by Eva Black.

Looking for something a little less on the nose? The soft hues of this desert landscape by Katie Doherty of My Walls Are Yellow (pictured in our White Gallery Frame) would provide a gorgeous contrast against blue sea and sky.

Three-Dimensional Souvenir

Driftwood, seashells, swaths of towels and tropical textiles––so many of the best beach souvenirs have been difficult to frame. Until now! Our new Max Plexibox frame collection offers a beautiful way to hold your three-dimensional keepsakes dear: In custom-depth Lucite with stylish, subtle details that let your art shine. Here are just a few examples of beachy items that look amazing in custom Max Plexibox frames, hanging in a seaside room.

The pretty pastels on these quilted art pieces by Carrie Strine recall a windswept landscape, and late nights bundled up around a bonfire or waterfront. Here they are custom framed in Max Plexibox Frames with Natural Linen and White Linen.

How cool is this collection of vintage swimwear? We’d frame them in Max Plexibox Frames with White Linen to make the colors pop. This photo of author Holly Peterson‘s Hamptons entryway was taken by William Waldron and produced by Robert Rufino for Elle Decor.

Don’t have a beach house? Use these same tips to bring some of the beach to you! Wherever you are can feel like a vacation with the right decor.

Inspired yet? Head here to start custom framing your own art, and create an interior that’s as inviting as the coastal landscape.
