A Family-Friendly Collab

Anyone who has kids and a love of interior design knows how hard it can be to furnish a home that adequately reflects and accommodates both. But Nook, a modern family brand whose mission is to elevate the standard for kid-friendly design, makes it a whole lot easier by featuring brands, organizations, and people focused on bringing quality, intention, and artistry to everyday life.

As an extension of that mission, Nook has partnered with Uprise Art artist Kristin Texeira (whose colorful, geometric oil paintings we’ve long been huge fans of!) to create a gallery wall that juxtaposes fine art with “mini masterpieces” made by kids. The result is a really fun and whimsical display that strikes the perfect chord between sentimental and chic—and we’re honored to have provided the custom framing for the project.

It’s no secret that we’re big proponents of custom framing kids’ art (see examples here and here) but we especially love when those personal pieces are seamlessly incorporated into a modern, grown-up interior. And if you’re looking for original art by up-and-coming artists to enhance your space, we can’t recommend Uprise Art highly enough. This collaboration brought together so many of our favorite things, and if you’re in the D.C. area, we hope you’ll stop by Nook’s Ballston Quarter location to see it in person!
